Ignatian Examen — Wednesday Night, January 7th

Ignatian Examen — Wednesday Night, January 7th

🌾 1. Become Aware of Presence
As this day comes to a close, I pause.
I breathe slowly, letting my body soften and my mind settle.
I trust that I am held—by the quiet of the night, by the wisdom of my own spirit, by the gentle rhythm of nature.

🌟 2. Give Thanks
Tonight, gratitude rises easily.
I am thankful for having completed everything I planned for today—each practice, each commitment, each moment of intention.
I am grateful for the warm, friendly conversation with my high school friend, a reminder of continuity and shared history.
I give thanks for the joy of beginning the country-style art piece for my daughter, a creative act filled with love and meaning.

🔍 3. Review the Day
I look back over the hours with honesty and tenderness.
Where did I feel most alive, grounded, or connected?
Where did I sense flow, ease, or quiet joy?
I notice how completing my plans strengthened my confidence, how friendship nourished my heart, and how creativity opened a doorway to presence.

💗 4. Face What Needs Attention
I gently acknowledge any moments of tension, distraction, or fatigue.
I hold them without judgment, knowing they are part of being human.
I ask myself: What might I learn from these moments? What do they reveal about my needs, my boundaries, or my desires?

🌅 5. Look Toward Tomorrow
With a soft heart, I turn toward the day ahead.
What grace do I hope to carry into tomorrow?
Perhaps the steadiness of completing my commitments, the warmth of friendship, or the joy of creating something beautiful.
I set a simple intention: to move with presence, gratitude, and kindness toward myself and others.
