Ignatian Night Examen — Tuesday, January 6th, 2025
a day of devotion, discipline, and gentle presence
1. Gratitude — A Soft Thank You for a Day Well Lived
Tonight I begin by giving thanks for the grace of completing everything I planned.
I am grateful for my morning sadhana Zazen, yoga practice, Satvic Yoga Sadhana, strength training, my sponsor call, and breakfast, each one a thread in the tapestry of my healing.
I give thanks for the nourishment of cooking, the sweetness of my walk, the freshness of my chayote blanco salad, and the simple joy of lunch at Sopitas.
I am grateful for the afternoon’s devotion: working on the SLAA Anorexia Workshop, showing up for the OA book study group, and ending the day with TYI Yoga for Better Living.
I honor the steadiness, the discipline, and the presence that carried me through.
2. Ask for Light — Seeing My Day with Kindness
I invite a gentle, moonlit clarity to shine over my day.
Not to judge it, but to understand it.
I ask for insight that feels soft, feminine, and true, like starlight resting on quiet earth.
3. Review — Walking Back Through My Day
I walk slowly through the hours of this day:
- My full morning sadhana
- Cooking, nourishment, and mindful walking
- My afternoon work and meetings
- My evening yoga class
I notice the rhythm: devotion, nourishment, learning, and movement.
4. Reflection — Where I Moved Toward Healing
I ask myself softly:
Where did I move toward truth, recovery, or authenticity today?
Where did I feel grounded, supported, or aligned?
Where did I offer kindness to myself or others?
Where did I feel Mother Nature’s quiet guidance: in breath, in movement, in presence?
I hold the entire day with tenderness: the effort, the discipline, the devotion.
5. Renewal — Curling Into Rest
As the night deepens, I release what is heavy.
I keep what is true.
I let myself soften into rest.
May Mother Nature cradle me tonight with warmth and gentleness.
May I wake renewed, steady, and open to the next step in my healing.
May all beings be safe.
May all beings be free.
May all beings know peace.
