Ignatian Night Examen — Sunday, January 4th, 2026
a day lived with presence and devotion
1. Gratitude — A Soft Thank You for This Day
Tonight I begin by giving thanks for a day lived in alignment with my intentions. I am grateful that I showed up fully — present, grounded, and mindful — in every activity I named this morning. I give thanks for my yoga practice, for the way it opened my body and softened my breath. I am grateful for my SLAA meeting, for the honesty and connection it offered. I honor the final day of the Anorexia 12 Steps workshop, a milestone of courage and commitment. I give thanks for my yoga class, my OA HOW meeting, and the gentle rhythm of walking to gather Whole Plant Based groceries. I am grateful for the way this day held me — steady, structured, and full of meaning.
2. Ask for Light — Seeing My Day with Kindness
I invite a soft, moonlit clarity to shine over my day. Not to judge it, but to understand it. I ask for insight that feels gentle, feminine, and true — like starlight resting on quiet earth.
3. Review — Walking Back Through My Day
I walk slowly through the hours of this day:
Being fully present in each activity
Yoga practice
SLAA meeting
Final day of the Anorexia 12 Steps workshop
Yoga class
OA HOW meeting
My walk to gather nourishing Whole Plant Based groceries
I notice the flow — movement, community, nourishment, and mindful presence.
4. Reflection — Where I Moved Toward Healing
I ask myself softly: Where did I move toward truth, recovery, or authenticity today? Where did I feel grounded, supported, or aligned? Where did I offer kindness to myself or others? Where did I feel Mother Nature’s quiet guidance — in breath, in movement, in presence?
I hold all of it with tenderness — the effort, the devotion, the humanity.
5. Renewal — Curling Into Rest
As the night deepens, I release what is heavy. I keep what is true. I let myself soften into rest.
May Mother Nature cradle me tonight with warmth and gentleness. May I wake renewed, steady, and open to the next step in my healing.
May all beings be safe. May all beings be free. May all beings know peace.
