Ignatian Night Examen — Saturday, January 3rd
Ignatian Night Examen — Saturday, January 3rd
a day of movement, meaning, and mindfulness
1. Gratitude — A Gentle Thank You for Today
Tonight I begin by giving thanks for this rich and nourishing day.
I am grateful for my meditation and body movement, for the way they grounded me in breath and presence.
I give thanks for my OA HOW sponsor call, for the honesty and support it offered.
I’m grateful for the joy and care of cooking, for the way it connects me to my Top Lines and my healing.
I honor the depth of my Queer IFS meeting, my Secular OA Support Group, and the Recovery Dharma gathering — each one a circle of wisdom and belonging.
I give thanks for my Yoga Institute class and Satsang, for the spiritual nourishment they offered.
And I’m grateful for the simple, sacred act of dinner, shared with intention and care.
2. Ask for Light — Seeing My Day with Kindness
I invite a soft, moonlit clarity to shine over my day.
Not to judge it, but to understand it.
I ask for insight that feels gentle, feminine, and true — like starlight resting on still water.
3. Review — Walking Back Through My Day
I walk slowly through the hours of this day:
- Meditation and movement
- My sponsor call
- Cooking with love
- Queer IFS and Secular OA meetings
- Dinner
- Recovery Dharma
- Yoga and Satsang
I notice the rhythm — breath, connection, nourishment, reflection, and spiritual depth.
4. Reflection — Where I Moved Toward Healing
I ask myself softly:
Where did I move toward truth, recovery, or authenticity today?
Where did I feel grounded, supported, or aligned?
Where did I offer kindness to myself or others?
Where did I feel Mother Nature’s quiet guidance — in breath, in movement, in presence?
I hold all of it with tenderness — the effort, the devotion, the humanity.
5. Renewal — Curling Into Rest
As the night deepens, I release what is heavy.
I keep what is true.
I let myself soften into rest.
May Mother Nature cradle me tonight with warmth and gentleness.
May I wake renewed, steady, and open to the next step in my healing.
May all beings be safe.
May all beings be free.
May all beings know peace.
