Ignatian Night Examen — Monday, January 5th

🌙💖 Ignatian Night Examen — Monday, January 5th

a day of effort, learning, and accomplishment

1. Gratitude — A Gentle Thank You for Today
Tonight I begin by giving thanks for the fullness of this day.
I am grateful that I showed up for almost everything I planned: meditation, yoga practice, yoga sadhana, strength training, cooking, meetings, nourishment, and service.
I give thanks for the honesty to notice what didn’t happen — my finances and my SLAA Anorexia Workshop work and for the humility to say, I’m learning.
I am grateful for the joy and pride of my TYI Yoga for Better Living class, where I completed all the asanas for the first time in years.
I honor the happiness, the accomplishment, and the devotion that carried me through.

2. Ask for Light — Seeing My Day with Kindness
I invite a soft, moonlit clarity to shine over my day.
Not to judge it, but to understand it.
I ask for insight that feels gentle, feminine, and true, like starlight resting on quiet ground.

3. Review — Walking Back Through My Day
I walk slowly through the hours of this day:
- Showing up for my morning practices
- Nourishing myself with food and structure
- Calling my OA HOW sponsor
- Cooking and meal prepping
- Attending my meetings
- Being of service
- Ending the day with yoga, and completing every asana

I notice the rhythm: effort, devotion, learning, and joy.

4. Reflection — Where I Moved Toward Healing
I ask myself softly:
Where did I move toward truth, recovery, or authenticity today?
Where did I feel grounded, supported, or aligned?
Where did I offer kindness to myself or others?
Where did I feel Mother Nature’s quiet guidance, in breath, in movement, in presence?

I hold both the completed tasks and the unfinished ones with tenderness.
Both are part of my healing.
Both are part of my becoming.

5. Renewal — Curling Into Rest
As the night deepens, I release what is heavy.
I keep what is true.
I let myself soften into rest.

May Mother Nature cradle me tonight with warmth and gentleness.
May I wake renewed, steady, and open to the next step in my healing.

May all beings be safe.
May all beings be free.
May all beings know peace.
