Ignatian Night Examen — Tuesday, January 12th
Ignatian Night Examen — Tuesday, January 12th
a day of completion, integration, and pride in recovery
1. Gratitude — A Soft Thank You for This Day
Tonight, I begin by giving thanks for completing my schedule with steadiness and devotion.
I am grateful for the writing I did on the Secular OA HOW Tools, especially the tool of Fellowship — meetings, outreach, and service.
I give thanks for the way this writing flowed, and for the integration of mindfulness practice, MB‑EAT, and ACT therapies into my recovery work.
I honor the sense of pride that arose from showing up fully and creating something meaningful.
2. Ask for Light — Seeing My Day with Kindness
I invite a gentle, moonlit clarity to shine over my day.
Not to judge it, but to understand it.
I ask for insight that feels soft and true — like starlight resting on quiet earth.
3. Review — Walking Back Through My Day
I walk slowly through the hours of this day:
- Completing my planned schedule
- Writing on the tool of Fellowship
- Integrating recovery practices with mindfulness, MB‑EAT, and ACT
- Feeling proud and focused
I notice the rhythm — discipline, creativity, and healing.
4. Reflection — Where I Moved Toward Healing
I ask myself softly:
Where did I move toward truth, recovery, or authenticity today?
Where did I feel grounded, supported, or aligned?
Where did I offer kindness to myself or others?
Where did I feel Mother Nature’s quiet guidance — in writing, in reflection, in service?
I hold all of it with tenderness — the effort, the devotion, the pride.
5. Renewal — Curling Into Rest
As the night deepens, I release what is heavy.
I keep what is true.
I let myself soften into rest.
May Mother Nature cradle me tonight with warmth and gentleness.
May I wake renewed, steady, and open to the next step in my healing.
May all beings be safe.
May all beings be free.
May all beings know peace.
