Ignatian Night Examen — Sunday, January 11th
Ignatian Night Examen — Sunday, January 11th
a day of compassion, family, and healing
1. Gratitude — A Soft Thank You for This Day
Tonight, I begin by giving thanks for the compassion that guided me.
I am grateful for my daily sadhana, for the way it grounded me in presence.
I give thanks for the final celebration meeting of the SLAA Anorexia Steps Workshop, honoring the courage and devotion of 18 weeks of healing.
I am grateful for the joy of my family gathering — children and grandchildren together, laughter, love, and belonging.
I honor the wisdom of my monthly class on Right Action, deepening my understanding of the Eightfold Path.
And I give thanks for the gentle integration of the TYI Yoga for Better Living class, weaving movement and reflection into rest.
2. Ask for Light — Seeing My Day with Kindness
I invite a soft, moonlit clarity to shine over my day.
Not to judge it, but to understand it.
I ask for insight that feels gentle and true — like starlight resting on quiet earth.
3. Review — Walking Back Through My Day
I walk slowly through the hours of this day:
- My morning sadhana
- The final celebration meeting
- Family gathering with children and grandchildren
- Monthly class on Right Action
- Evening yoga practice
I notice the rhythm — compassion, connection, wisdom, and integration.
4. Reflection — Where I Moved Toward Healing
I ask myself softly:
Where did I move toward truth, recovery, or authenticity today?
Where did I feel grounded, supported, or aligned?
Where did I offer kindness to myself or others?
Where did I feel Mother Nature’s quiet guidance — in family, in practice, in compassion?
I hold all of it with tenderness — the effort, the devotion, the joy.
5. Renewal — Curling into Rest
As the night deepens, I release what is heavy.
I keep what is true.
I let myself soften into rest.
May Mother Nature cradle me tonight with warmth and gentleness.
May I wake renewed, steady, and open to the next step in my healing.
May all beings be safe.
May all beings be free.
May all beings know peace.
