Ignatian Night Examen — Thursday, January 15th
Ignatian Night Examen — Thursday, January 15th
a day of joy, writing, and embodied presence
1. Gratitude — A Soft Thank You for This Day
Tonight, I begin by giving thanks for the excellence of this day.
I am grateful for the joy and strength of my Pilates class, for the way my body felt alive and resilient.
I give thanks for the focus and clarity of my Secular OA HOW writing, honoring recovery through words and reflection.
I am grateful for the evening’s TYI Yoga for Better Living class, a gentle integration of movement, breath, and gratitude.
I honor the balance of discipline and joy that carried me through.
2. Ask for Light — Seeing My Day with Kindness
I invite a soft, moonlit clarity to shine over my day.
Not to judge it, but to understand it.
I ask for insight that feels gentle and true — like starlight resting on quiet earth.
3. Review — Walking Back Through My Day
I walk slowly through the hours of this day:
- Morning gratitude and sadhana
- Pilates class, strengthening and enlivening my body
- Writing on Secular OA HOW tools, deepening recovery
- Evening yoga practice, weaving together reflection and rest
I notice the rhythm — movement, writing, recovery, and integration.
4. Reflection — Where I Moved Toward Healing
I ask myself softly:
Where did I move toward truth, recovery, or authenticity today?
Where did I feel grounded, supported, or aligned?
Where did I offer kindness to myself or others?
Where did I feel Mother Nature’s quiet guidance — in movement, in writing, in reflection?
I hold all of it with tenderness — the effort, the devotion, the joy.
5. Renewal — Curling into Rest
As the night deepens, I release what is heavy.
I keep what is true.
I let myself soften into rest.
May Mother Nature cradle me tonight with warmth and gentleness.
May I wake renewed, steady, and open to the next step in my healing.
May all beings be safe.
May all beings be free.
May all beings know peace.
